Vision
Our History
History & Mission of the organization Empowered Choice Inc. was founded from a deeply personal journey. My mother was born with a disability and, despite needing significant assistance, she had little to no support. Witnessing her struggles firsthand shaped my understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. From the young age of 11, I developed a passion for helping people, realizing the impact that proper care, education, and resources could have on someone’s quality of life. Now, at 42 years old, with over 31 years of dedication to this calling, I have turned my passion into action. What began as Cecelia’s Care LLC has now evolved into Empowered Choice Inc., a reflection of our mission to provide greater independence, dignity, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities by providing high-quality care, advocacy, and support services that enhance their independence and well-being. Through compassionate care, education, and personalized support, we strive to create opportunities that allow every individual to live with dignity and choice. By transforming lives and advocating for inclusivity, we are committed to making a lasting impact in our community.
Our Mission
Information on the Founder & Staff
Our founder, Taneka Blunt, brings over 16 years of experience as a licensed provider through APD, during which she has dedicated herself to delivering exceptional services to disabled adults across Florida. Her deep commitment and personal insight into the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities have been the cornerstone of our organization. Our staff are equally dedicated and highly qualified. Each team member meets all required certifications and has completed extensive training in working with persons with disabilities. They bring a compassionate and experienced approach to their roles, ensuring that every individual receives the supportive, respectful care they deserve.
